Showing Up
I am afraid of a lot of things- change, uncertainty, rejection, abandonment, vulnerability, failure, being let down, not being enough, feeling unimportant, feeling unloveable...
It's not about jumping out of a helicopter, skydiving, or bungee jumping, it's about practicing showing up for ourselves by fully participating in life, even if that means facing scary shit. Jumping out of a helicopter feels easy compared to things like having your soul ripped open by heartbreak or standing up for yourself when no one else has your back. By developing the practice of enduring the discomfort while expanding the boundaries of our comfort zones, we develop the confidence to face our fears, instead of run away from them.
We have all experienced most of our worst fears (which is why we are afraid of them in the first place), but we survived and are still here, shining from the inside.
